This Tutorial will demonstrate how to rotate an object to the same angle of another object.. The tutorial will showcase two options to reach the same result, by using the align and Rotate by Reference commands in AutoCad.

Option 1

First, make sure both the reference object and the object that you need to rotate share a base point.

Input command RO then press enter or the space bar.

The dialogue box displaying SELECT OBJECTS will appear, and then chose the desired object.

Chose the shared base point on both objects, then input command R.

A dialogue box will display SPECIFY THE REFERENCE ANGLE

Chose the same base point on the object that needs to be rotated and another point long the line in the same direction.

Chose a point on the reference object then press enter or space bar.

Option 2

Input the command AL then press enter or space bar.

Select one point on the object that needs rotation then select a point on the reference object.

Select the second point on the object that needs rotation then a point on the reference object.+

Press enter or scale bar (twice). The object should be rotated and aligned to the reference object.
