SketchUp can be a useful tool for studying a site design and producing preliminary concepts images for progress reviews with team members and potentially for client meetings. While most exports from SketchUp are perspectives, it can also be useful to export both site plan and section views as part of these reviews. What’s essential is that these traditional design drawings are to a known scale. This tutorial walks through the steps for creating scenes for site plans and sections in SketchUp and then using Layout to place them on a sheet at a known scale.
